Happy New Year

Now that we are on the verge of a new year, it’s time to make plans for 2026 and hope all of them will work our and all of our goals will come true. I don’t know how was your experience of 2025 but I hope 2026 will bring you even more joy and beautiful memories that you will carry with you throughout your life. 2025 was not my best year nor was it a bad one. But it was slightly better than 2024. I am happier in my new place. I didn’t create a long list of 2026 goals but I do know what I want it to bring to me. More time to update this blog. More time to update my YouTube channel that contains only a handful of videos and an unimpressive number of 13 subscribers (for now hopefully). More time to do my paintings. Time to start oil painting for real. Time to cook all the food that I plan to cook. Time to cook more cakes. More time to hang out with friends. Lots of travel. Lots of concerts. Lots of fun. Let’s start this party now!

My tiny evergreen tree for 2026. In my country, we decorate those trees on New Year’s Eve rather than Christmas. Turkey is mostly populated by Muslims who don’t celebrate Christmas so this tradition is adopted for secular New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Now photos from my first promenade of 2026. Seaside of my beautiful Istanbul.

Istanbul is called Catstanbul for a reason.
